Parquet made of bamboo: uses and benefits

In the living room and bedroom, regular bamboo parquet should not be installed. The rooms are usually very dry and equipped with underfloor heating. At high temperatures, bamboo tends to crack. If you still want to install the flooring in a living room, we recommend using a humidifier. However, at Parkett Hinterseer, you can get industrial bamboo flooring that works great with hot water underfloor heating.

How to properly care for the surface of bamboo parquet

The parquet type is characterized primarily by its low-maintenance properties. Use primarily mild cleaning agents without dyes. Otherwise, there is a risk that the bamboo floor will absorb the color of the cleaner and discolor. We recommend that you damp mop bamboo, but not wet. Depending on whether you have an oiled or lacquered floor made of bamboo, the maintenance routine will differ.

Oiled bamboo flooring should be maintained with a wood floor soap and cotton cloths. To keep your floor looking beautiful for a long time, treat the material periodically with wax or oil.

If you choose lacquered parquet, the maintenance is very low. Cleaning is done with a damp soft cotton cloth. For optimum shine, a special polish or liquid hard wax can be used.

To keep your parquet from unsightly scratches and dents, fix felt glides under movable furniture and under chair and table legs. After many years of use, of course, traces of use will become visible. To make these disappear and the floor shine in new splendor, sanding the material is an option. Due to the strength of the parquet, this is possible several times.
